Free Time Activities

The following are just a few of the great adventures you can plan for your free afternoons!

Winding through the lands of the Tamayame, Twin Warriors Golf Club at Hyatt Regency Tamaya boasts 18 holes of high desert, championship golf. One of the Southwest’s most celebrated golf courses, Twin Warriors is framed by the banks of the Rio Grande and spectacular views of the Sandia Mountains. The Club offers a variety of golf rentals and instructions.
Contact the hotel for tee times and rates.

Situated in a region rich with culture and history, our luxurious New Mexico spa hotel and resort offers a tranquil setting with spectacular views of the Sandia Mountains. The Pueblo-style Santa Fe luxury spa hotel and resort is a haven of restorative treatments, inspired by the land and its people.

For more information and to make a reservation, visit Tamaya’s website.

The Stables at Tamaya are a true reflection of the Tamayame’s respect for their land and animals.  Allow trail guides to tailor a riding program to match your skill level, whether you are a beginner or regular rider. Trail Rides and Children’s Pony Rides are available.
Visit their website for more information and costs.

Come experience nature at its best. Take a self-guided or guided walking tour along the same terrain explored by the Tamayame for centuries. Go for a bike ride along the Rio Grande or along any of our additional designated trails.  Beach cruisers are available for checkout, along with helmets and trail maps

Coronado Historic Site, just minutes from the Hyatt Tamaya*, includes the partially reconstructed ruins of the ancient Pueblo of Kuaua. An interpretive trail (1/5 of a mile) winds through the site leading to a reconstructed kiva that was excavated at the site in the 1930s. Many decorated layers were revealed and are considered the finest example of pre-contact mural art in the United States. Enjoy the spectacular view, bring a lunch and walk our interpretive trails or sit by a ramada/shelter overlooking the Sandia Mountain and the Rio Grande. The cost for entrance to the site is $5.00.

A trip on the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway transports you above deep canyons and breathtaking terrain a distance of 2.7 miles. See some of nature’s more dramatic beauty unfold before you with scenic views of the Rio Grande Valley below and the city of Albuquerque. It stretches from the northeast edge of the city to the crestline of the Sandia Mountains and has the world’s third longest single span, in a 40 minute round-trip ride. The tram is a 20 minute drive from Hyatt Tamaya*. The cost for adults is $25.00.
*You will need to have your own transportation to get there.
